ECE WORKS!

ECE Works! is an early care and education (ECE) public policy project of First 5 LA aimed at creating policy change to promote and professionalize the ECE workforce and increase investment in the sector to promote long-term retention. Through the ECE Works campaign First 5 LA is creating a movement and building a strong network of business and civic leaders to support increased investment in the early care and education workforce. ECE Works! is the centerpiece of First 5 LA’s public policy work within its $50+ million workforce investment portfolio.  Through the ECE Works! Campaign, First 5 LA is engaging business and civic leaders, ECE stakeholders, and local, state and national policy makers around their commitment to ensuring that Los AngelesCounty remains a strong, globally competitive region through investment in the ECE workforce as a means of promoting economic prosperity.  The ECE Works! campaign also touches the heart of the topical national conversation on complex issues about to the country’s global educational standing and long-term economic performance. Through ECE Works! First 5 LA is determined to take leadership with its partners to elevate and advance the conversation around ECE workforce related issues and produce tangible results.  First 5 LA is a child advocacy and grantmaking organization created by California voters to invest Proposition 10 tobacco tax revenues in health care, early education and child development programs for L.A.County children from the prenatal stage to age 5 and their families.
