In 2011, a group of past presidents and leaders of the Los Angeles Junior Chamber of Commerce started an annual giving program entitled, Walter V. Society. Chaired by Past President C. Thomas Hebert (1974-75), the Walter V. Society was formed to help support the current work of the Junior Chamber. When choosing the name of the giving program, the founding members decided to honor one of the Junior Chamber’s most beloved executive directors, Walter V. “Vic” Stark. Vic led the organization for over two decades from 1960 to 1982, providing an extraordinary platform of leadership development, civic engagement and life-changing opportunities for the young professionals of Los Angeles.  At the Walter V. Society launch event on December 15, 2011 where Vic was honored, he said, “the Junior Chamber has been successful because of the link-by-link connections that were created by and between its members over the years….” Vic called upon everyone to go back to those connections to encourage others to “give back.”  Membership to the Walter V. Society requires an annual pledge of $1,000 or more – which showcases both a personal commitment to the Junior Chamber and an investment in the organization’s long-term sustainability and success. The Los Angeles Junior Chamber thanks the members of the Walter V. Society for their longstanding and continued support of the organization.  CLICK HERE for a roster of the “Walter V.
