Los Angeles Junior Chamber of Commerce

Enrollment

The First Tee of Los Angeles accepts registrations throughout the year on a rolling basis.   The program is open to all youth ages 6-18 years old.  All golfers new to The First Tee of Los Angeles must complete one session at the PLAYer (beginner) level in order for the instructor to assess their knowledge of rules, etiquette, as well as golf skills and give them the necessary back ground on The First Tee’s Nine Core Values™ and Life Skills Experience™. After this session, golfers may be placed in a class with more comparable golf skills.

We conduct classes at our home facility, Whittier Narrows Golf Course in Rosemead, California.  Classes are offered in four 10-week sessions annually, so you are never very far off from the start of a new session.  We schedule the rest of our county-wide classes over approximately 20 weeks from April –August.  General registration and enrollment for this period begins in January and continues until approximately June.  First-time participants who apply in July may have to wait until the start of the next spring season.

Here is an overview of our registration and enrollment process:

  • REGISTER ONLINE.
  • Or download, complete and mail THE FIRST TEE REGISTRATION FORM to:  Los Angeles Junior Chamber Charity Foundation, c/o The First Tee of Los Angeles, 244 S. San Pedro Street, Suite 200, Los Angeles, CA  90012.
  • Please note that the enrollment process may vary depending on which golf facility you are interested in.
  • For your enrollment request to be considered, we must receive a completed registration form, class selection form and full payment.  You may request the class selection form and payment form from the program staff.
  • Once your are confirmed or enrolled in a class, you will receive information on the class dates, time and location.

Although our program is open to all youth, we have a special focus on recruiting youth who come from Los Angeles’ most under-served communities.  Title I schools and youth groups who serve undeserved communities and are interested in offering our classes or clinics are encouraged to contact us at (213) 680-8002 or TheFirstTeeLA@lajcc.org.
