Working with schools and other youth serving agencies, The First Tee of Los Angeles offers TARGET Enrolled classes at agency sites or green-grass golf facilities. These classes are generally shorter in duration (4-6 weeks) and offer an introduction to golf and life skills, the Nine Core Values and Nine Healthy Habits. Modified golf equipment such as SNAG and Almost™ golf balls are used allowing the program to be safe and portable while giving participants a hands-on experience with the sport of golf. These programs have been conducted at schools, parks, recreation centers, indoors and out. TARGET Enrolled classes are often entry points to the program and participants are encouraged to enroll in the Life Skills Experience ™ program after completion.
Classes are scheduled through a representative of the school or agency; participants then sign up through the agency. For information about how your school or agency can participate in the TARGET Enrolled program, contact (213) 680-8002 or TheFirstTeeLA@lajcc.org.
